Kids love articulated vehicles.
Scale Models
USA-made two wheel trailers are ready to hitch up to metal pedal
tractors or large tricycles with a low clevis hitch.
They have a rolled edge plastic tub with a tubular steel
tongue/axle with a clevis type hitch.
Two 7" rubber over silver gray plastic wheels match or contrast with
the front tires on a metal pedal tractor.
The Scale Models red, JD green, Oliver green or orange
plastic with steel trailer for pedal tractor or big trike
is $44 (SMFF037-)
Minimal adult assembly is needed.
The favorite choice in a heavy duty three wheeler is the
Valley Road Air Tire Tough Trike.
Fresh from the genuine craftsmen in
an Amish welding and wood shop in eastern Pennsylvaina.
The tires are knobby and the riding position
can be adjusted widely by clamping the seat anywhere along the frame.
You can drop one of these from three feet and all it does is
bounce, without even a rattle!
Every time a kid of any age sees one of these for the first time
you can see the "WOW!" on their face.

The Speedway Mini-Cart is the perfect
steel framed wood trailer for the trikes or pedal tractor.
The trailer has a low frame with the 10" by 4" air tires outside
of the wooden bed, so the frame and hitch hitch height is low.
Natural wood with four wood racks in bright red,
"Ford" blue or
"John Deere" green to go with any tow vehicle,
The bed is 14½ wide by 20" long, and the wheels and hitch tongue
extends out further.
A clevis type hitch has two parallel plates with holes, some power units
will need a hitch pin (from Grandpa's mason jar), while some have one already.
The actual rails have more pinstriping than the picture.
When a cart is ordered with a big pedal puller, S/H is waived.

Durable large pedal karts fit persons ages 3 up to
308 lbs. from Berg.

These pedal cars have the design strength and attention to detail
not seen except in commercial-duty items suitable for rental
or daily community use. Most Berg models are made in Hollad.
Axles are 20mm with sealed ball or needle bearings in the wheel hubs
and on the rear axle. The frame backbone is 31mm square while other
major frame sections 27mm round.
The lower steering shaft is a stout 17mm in diameter with ball
joints (most models) connecting a thick tie rod with nylon bushing ends.
Most models also feature floating front axle to pivot keeping all wheels
in contact even over heavy terrain.
All of Berg's Karts have a freewheel unit that
allows for coasting without pedals whipping
around and some let you start out easier by pedal pre-positioning.
Higher end karts have "AF" (auto-freewheel) reverse capable
hubs (upgradable) or even multiple gears and/or back pressure or multi-disc brake.

depicts the popular look and some available features of these karts-
colors and features vary from this photo.
The standard features on all pedal karts include
a rugged powder-coated steel frame, clevis type trailer hitch.
The comfortable seat is easily
adjustable without tools and it has steel reinforcement behind the plastic.
A hand operated scrub brake on all models acts on the rear
two smooth riding pneumatic tires.
UPS-able packaging on some models saves the need for delivery
by big truck on most models.

Bucket seat, front spoiler, rear fenders and cushioned steering
wheel round out the package.
The Phazer GT has wide unidirectional street tread air
tires on five spoke plastic wheel rims.
The rugged orange powder-coated steel frame has
a pivoting front end that works well even on rough surfaces.
It is equipped with a hand brake operating on the rear tires.
The single speed Phazer GT freewheels one way
automatically for forward pedal power or coasting but does not
accommodate pedaling backwards; the
foot-to-floor method is used for reverse.

Berg Cyclo AF and Roxy Karts are middle sized pedal cars for boys or girls ages 5 to 14.

The Roxy AF Kart has tangerine colored plastic seat, front valence and chainguard over a pink powdercoated steel frame and floral graphics.
Cyclo has blue seat, front panel and chainguard with the steel frame a bright
yellow plus racing style graphics with "01" numerals.
Both models have styled plastic wheels with black air tires, steering
wheel and pedals.
There is a also minor price difference favoring the Cyclo from the maker.
Pedal along and coast with the single speed
auto freewheel then back up with the reversible hub.
Stop positively using the hand lever rear wheel scrub brake.
Inclined kingpin and tie rod steering is the most technically advanced Ackerman
type geometry found in a pedal car, tuning paved surface handling characteristics.
The seat adjusts readily by lifting it out of one square hole and setting it
into a different one.
The weight limit is 150lb. aboard but there is a clevis tow hook on the back for
pulling even more.

Berg's full size Racing GTX-treme has features that make it a very versatile and
fun vehicle for neighborhood travel or just fast, fun riding.
From the ground up, fat unidirectional tread air tires mounted on chrome plated
wheels look cool and probably can't be hydroplaned.
If you are moving fast on wet roads, the four blue plastic
fenders will catch some of the spray from the tires.
The look is sharp with silver frame, body cladding in blue and black trim.
Three speed ratios with freewheeling provide pulling or launch force, an intermediate range
and a tall top gear for high speed cruising where conditions favor it.
Dual braking systems include heat dissipating lever operated
disc brakes on both rear wheels
and an internal coaster brake, a big step up from scrub brakes.
Correct steering geometry helps with stability though there is a white steel bar over the seatback.

John Deere BF3 Traxx by Berg combines America's favorite tractor company
with the best Pedal Karts. The John Deere licensed product
has the obvious color
scheme with green hood and rear fenders, yellow seat and wheels along with a lot of
black parts and silver for the roll bar.
The three speed internal hub transmission
gives appropriate pedal power leverage and speed
and it encloses a coaster brake with reverse capability.
Deep tread agricultural air tires front and rear shed clogs to deliver
pulling traction and positive steering when off pavement.
The front end kingpin steering has double ball joint articulation of the
two piece tie rod for smooth operation and long life.
This machine has functionality beyond just a pedal car with a standard rear implement lift unit.
The standard rear lift and optional front lift (August 08)
each fit the same accessory implements.

The frame, drive axle and floating steering axle design and construction
is heavy duty for years of fun usage.

Berg's Ferrari FXXBF7 Exclusive with bright red body cladding and the
Ferrari name
is the top end of pedal cars with a great feature set to back it up.
She has aerodynamic fenders,
12 inch lightweight metal wheel rims wrapped in wide, low profile
unidirectional tires for a firm foundation.
The taut steering has a precision two piece tie rod with ball joint ends
and correct Ackerman geometry to reduce energy robbing tire scrub on tight
turns.
A wide range of 7 gear choices allows for powerful hole shots and fast cruising
with the right cog available for every condition in between.
To reign in the speed potential indicated on the dashboard computer readout
there are strong double-disc brakes at the ready.
Rider comfort beyond the power input is assured by a
soft sport seat and a soft-grip leather look steering wheel.
This is beyond a five and up toy yet helps to build strength while
just riding for fun or benefitting from
human powered transportation.
