Please welcome Shaw Creek as the new maker of the nicest rocking and stick horses.
The former Papa Jake's Woodshop products have moved a few states away so they
remain Made In USA.
Three models of rocking horses now come from Shaw Creek in two sizes along with stick horses;
click the picture to enlarge.
Traditional wooden rocking horses make for old fashioned playtime.
Shaw Creek crafts the line of rocking
horses that embody "Durable Toys" perfectly.
They have natural wood construction with realistic brown leather bridles.
Deep glossy brown eyes, vinyl ears and
tan synthetic yarn manes and tails round out the toys.
Hand grips at the head offer firm stability.
Two sizes of horses fit a wide age range of children.

is an old favorite with a legless anorexic body and credible
horse's head in view when riding. They are light and easy to take on

The Jonti-Craft Block Gator
is a ride-on that makes picking up after one's self fun.
The steering wheel spins freely so maneuvering is
by two feet and a single front mounted heavy-duty caster.
There are non-marking pedal tractor type tires at back.
The capacity of the hauling box is sufficient to hold the Jonti-Craft 86
piece unit block set
(sold separately) or any other collection of small toys.
This gator is 30" long by 21" wide and 16" high; the seat height is approximately 11" high.

Jonti-Craft Play Kitchen items are the most finely finished and detailed

The Sink has a cabinet with two doors under a back section that, at 27" high,

What can you say about 14 or 21 different shapes rendered in wood until you assemble them into something?
Kids enjoy hours of creative play with these time-honored

New from the Specialty products catalog of Radio Flyer is the Classic Red Car
number 328 foot to floor toy. (Click to enlarge.)
The 26" long car is mostly bright red plastic with painted and varnished wood and a chrome pushbar and black steering wheel.
The sides are wood with non steerable wheels 5½" high, but the 'steering'
wheel turns and it has a red squeaker horn button.
A nice touch is the natural wood seat below the pushbar plus the white

A fun part of the exclusive Specialty line from Radio Flyer is the Classic Wood Rocking Horse.
A big wooden base painted Radio Flyer red holds a varnished solid wood mount
with a soft molded plastic saddle. Enlarge.
Overall footprint is 34½" by 10" with the height to the ear at 21½".
Children of about ages 1 to 4 fit the saddle height of 14½" over
floor level or 11" above a cross slat footrest.
Handles at the head provide a good grip for rowdy riding though
reins are attached. Features on the face, mane and tail
are nicely represented on the wood.
The only thing missing from this picture is a smiling face
with high metabolism.

Solid natural beechwood rockers are strong, beautiful and have bump stops to limit travel.
The plastic upper body is held to the rockers with screws, the only assembly needed.
The rockers are 27" long, seat height is 13½" and it stands about 22" high.

My First Piano Model 1822 by Schoenhut
is a bright red, 18-key tabletop piano that is the perfect "first piano"
for your favorite toddler. Both fun and educational for beginners,
this is the ideal toy to teach eye-hand coordination and develop
musical creativity. The keys are even spaced just like larger
pianos for proper hand span practice.
The Learning System, with its play-by-color assortment of songs,
makes playing simple and fun. A removable color-coordinated strip

Fun colorful wooden toys have the famous
John Deere tractor theme.
All three styles have been discontinued by the maker, but we have
stock shown by using the "Order/Browse" button.
This attractive
John Deere wooden tractor and wagon are made of ten stackable parts
in all, about a foot long. The wagon hitches to the tractor and both have
freely rolling wheels (kids like articulated vehicles!).
Green, yellow and natural wood coloration, with rolling wheels for

The Berlin Express wagon line's
Wee Toddler pull toy
is still hardwood from the bed to the red rails, at only
22 inches long by 15.5 inches wide. The smallest from Berlin's
Amish woodshop has
fixed plastic 5 inch wheels (no steering) and a pull rope with red grip.
This is a perfect toy for light duty indoor use that can haul a load of Teddy

The Little Red Roadster is steel bodied classic foot to floor
toy styled like a fifties open wheel race car.
Four white painted steel wheels with 6" x 1¼" rubber tires form
the base of the toy.
The body is 26½" long by 9½" wide with a total weight of 14 lb.
The steering wheel works to steer the front wheels from a comfortable
non-slip seat.
Retro styling cues include the shiny bright red finish, argent grill
and a steering wheel with horn. Of course, it is displaying the
