An interesting and environmentally cool variation in wagons is the use of
"boards" of weatherproof recycled
plastic. The Amish made
L&L wagon now from Hochstatler Welding LLC
Recovered plastic "lumber" is assembled into white boards and plywood-like
sheets and built into a wagon bed over a full length powder-coated steel frame.
Flathead through bolts threaded into Pem fastener captive nuts
are used to hold the plastic racks together rather than staples and glue.
The red, blue or dark green colors are not as saturated as paint
but don't seem to fade and
are through the material. A novel trim feature is the application of
white pavement marking paint pinstriping with crystal grains
that make the trim reflective.
The wagon rides on
10" x 4" inch pneumatic tires on four inch steel wheels with 5/8 inch ball bearings with grease fittings.
A long 30" handle is comfortable for adults, and the end is peaked to
center over a 2" trailer ball.
Plastic is ideal for livestock feed or water hauling because it
will not rot and pony Kiaz won't chew on the wagon.
Three standard colors of plastic racks are offered: red, blue
or dark green, shown, each with a white bed. Allow more time for white rails.

L&L wagons are also made in a larger plastic version with
a longer frame under a deck of 46" x 23": $315 Delivered.

EZ Spreader*, an Amish farm supply company, makes a
fiberglass bed wagon with superior
weather handling.

The entire 20"x40" bed bottom is one formed piece of fiberglass,
with no wood in the bed.
Red painted hardwood racks then slide into the holders like most
other wagons as shown. We agree that God never
made fiberglass trees but fibrous-glass reinforced
epoxy plastic makes a great wagon.
The wagon bed is shaped like flanged tub with a shallow
1.25" of depth inside but a skirt of 2.75" around the sides.
The topside of the fiberglass has rounded contours and

The Voyager Canopy Wagon features a UV protected removable canopy over the top for protection from the sun.
The "tent pole" design of the canopy make it easy to set up and take down for storage in the included carry bag.
From the ground up, 8¼" Dur-Tred wheels put rubber tires on plastic wheels over steel axles with castering fronts for non-tip agility.
The 39¼" body of the wagon has molded in wells that serve to store small items below flat folding covers or make room for little feet.
Above the lowest level is a flat cargo or sleeping area when the two convertible panels are down.
When flipped up, the blue plastic covers become seatbacks, revealing seats with three point seatbelts.
Rounding out the wagon's perimeter are drinkholders and connect points for the canopy.
Radio Flyer Voyager Canopy Wagon: $158 (RF002800)
Radio Flyer's top of the line feature wagon is the Ultimate Family Wagon.
It has features of other top Radio Flyer plastic wagons put into one design
with increased seating and hauling options.
One unique option is a second flat level, full height covered storage in addition to the various other modes.
It is big, at 41¼" long over 10" by 2¼ wide wheels and tires, and it can carry 200 lbs.
Even though it's bigger, the handle folds back over the top for easier transport.
The castering steel axles make it easy to pull the wagon even through tight turns.
There are storage cubbys below, drink holders, seatbelts and canopy also to help this wagon earn its name Ultimate Family Wagon: $178 (RF003100)
